Can I transfer my Xbox Live account to someone else?

Hello, my name is Gurdeep and I have an xbox 360 console which has my xbox live account which auto-renewed on May 1st 2011. I no longer use my Xbox therefor my Live account is useless. Is there anyway I could safely sell someone my account?
