Broken neck off femur?

I broke mine 2 an bit years ago. The repair was 3 screws. The surgeon signed me off 100% happy with the blood flow, the bone etc etc. I explained I had had a slight irritation, and looking again at the latest X Ray he said that one of the screws was slightly high but no worries we can always take it out, My Q is ?, what is the procedure, and how long off work.. crutches again etc.... I've had four sessions of Physio and this pain in and around the ocks and hip is not going away. I'm seeing my GP monday . Many thanks
